Peapod Pre-School

For children aged 2 - 4

We hope you and your children will enjoy their time with us.

Here at Peapod Pre-School our main concern is the happiness of our children and their families. We want the Pre-School not only to be somewhere the children come to extend their areas of learning and development, but to be a place they feel safe, content and enjoy attending.

Fran and Sarah decided to share the role of manager to enable them to have time in the rooms alongside the staff and children. This gives them a unique insight into the needs and workings of the pre-school. Both managers have university degrees and are keen that the children have diverse and stimulating learning experiences.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Many of you will appreciate just how lucky we are to have Heigham Park right on our doorstep.

The Friends of Heigham Park, a local voluntary group, have asked Peapod to help raise funds to buy bird boxes, bat boxes and insect houses to install in the park. We love this idea as it will involve the children learning about the natural world on their doorstep.

We are giving out sheets with pictures of common creatures for your children to try to spot on their walks around the area over the half-term holiday. When we return after the break we will be looking at these creatures in more detail: exploring their habitats, feeding habits and life-cycles.

The children will decide which creatures they would like to make into collection pots. These will be placed near the entrance to be ‘fed’ any spare change that you have available. All monies raised will go straight to the local group and used to purchase the habitats.

This should be a fun and informative project for the children to be involved in. They will be able to proudly spot the homes that they supplied for the creatures in their park.
